Horizon 2020-21
‘Stood, just stood
Where do we go to from here?
summer fires will burn alright
Let’s go to the beach
That watery edge of our habitat
drowning, but perhaps the allure of the cool sea might
distract us, refresh us even
worrying –
when on our backs the searing hurt.
Yet far horizons might provide a respite from the vision we lack
Sate that yearning for hope – that longing for promise, lapping
out of reach like a gentle nagging unrequited love
Or suggest that purpose –
wanting.
Well might we envy that far horizon when the one we have –
we are stood upon.
Turn and face the music
Face the horrid music of our making
Crackle and the burn.
New work: a pilot program, Monday 15th March – Saturday 1st May 2021
Located within the front window of FALT, 6 Templeton Street Castlemaine Vic.
The images were exhibited in series and changed every 2-3 days over the six weeks the installation was on display.
The short poem by B Esse accompanied the images. It was written levographically and was made readable via a mirror.
A video was projected over the whole after dusk and until dawn when the light forbade it being seen. The video has not yet been published.

I acknowledge with thanks the assistance of Ross Coulter in the filming and Jim Coad in the editing of this work, and Joanna Jacob (FALT) for the kind invitation to exhibit.
